Cold Isostatic Press (CIP)

COLD ISOSTATIC PRESSING (CIP) is a materials processing technique in which high pressure is applied from multiple directions for achieving greater uniformity of compaction (high-quality parts) and increased shape capability, compared to uniaxial pressing. Specimens are sealed in an elastomer container to insure compaction. The pressurization medium is water treated with corrosion inhibitor.

Autoclave Engineers Model IP-2-22-60
Max. Operating pressure 60 Kpsi (400 MPa)
Pressure Vessel I.D. 2.0” (51mm)
Pressure Vessel Height 22.0” (559mm)

NOTE: Custom pressure release mechanism installed on this unit, enables controlled venting if required for a process.
