Accessing or Joining the MPL
The MPL is a restricted post-graduate research facility which supports funded research from vast array of scientific disciplines. We welcome any University of California researcher whose requirements will not negatively impact our own research or instruments. Requests for external support (beyond the UC system) may be accommodated as time allows at the discretion of the facility director and staff.
There are two approaches to utilizing the facilities, one being to schedule the services of an instrument, and the other is to become a lab member. Initially, most requests tend to be to schedule use, so that a process may be validated, or for occasional demand (e.g. a process done a few times a year). As becoming a lab member entails additional time, effort and expense, this approach is typically for recurrent users.
To discuss your research requirements, please consult the Development Engineer.
