The Structural Materials Processing Laboratories (commonly referred to as ‘MPL’) provide extensive facilities for the synthesis and processing of monolithic, composite, and coating materials for structural applications based on advanced alloys, ceramics and high-temperature intermetallics. Emphases on high-rate physical vapor deposition, melt processing and advanced solidification, powder consolidation, and mechanical forming.
